On this week's edition of The Variety Party, once I prepared a snack at the beginning of the program, due to running out of time to do so beforehand, I put on a regular edition of the show, complete with listener requests, some patriotic music to celebrate Independence Day in America, and, most of the music I provided in the playlist, apart from a few patriotic songs, and a song or two to fit the theme of heat, with how hot and humid the weather has been this week, were songs that my former late boyfriend Ben, and I, enjoyed, or songs that Ben introduced me to back in the days when we were dating, as July 3, 2026, the date of the show, would have been his 39th. birthday, if he was still alive, and hadn't passed away, at the young age of 32, in September of 2019. Ambiance fills the gaps of silence that were present in the live broadcast at the beginning of the program, and, because of the fact that I had so much material to go through, it was another one of those, regular shows, that from the start, I decided, to go into overtime, once I saw how many requests I had, and that there was no way, this show would get completed, in 3 hours or less. In the end, I went over by an additional hour and 35 minutes. When reviewing the playlist down below, you will know at what points the show went into overtime, and where the show had that additional detour at the beginning while I went to get a snack to have during the program. All-in-all, it was a very good show, but as I stated during a voice break during the overtime portion of the program, which was basically, The Flashback Hour, I mentioned how I felt very lonely, being the only one involved with the show, out of me, and my circle of listeners, who had any memory of Ben, and knew any of the songs we both enjoyed. Most of the requests, focused on Independence Day, while The Life of The Party Segment featured a requested, 3-way Compare the Difference, that was very wishful thinking weather wise, though while in reality, it's interpreted differently, from how the lyrics were portraying the reasons for wanting rain, in the song itself. Also, it's a mystery as to why and how, I kept turning on and off my microphone, during one of the requests that played, during the second hour of the program. It was a good show, but emotionally, I'm kind of glad it will be a little while, before I have a show on the date of July 3, again, as grieving and remembering Ben, by myself, for whatever reason, felt, kind of, awkward. I will mention, that I think this was the first time that I can remember, a listener request on a regular edition of The Variety Party, prompted me to instate, a double closure. Today's edition of The Flash Drive, was a typical show, featuring a ton of requests, having to go acquire a few requests on the fly, and discovering that Herbie has a small bit of love for classical music? Perhaps? Eric provided another patriotic set, which inspired a certain parody I just had to hear, and, everybody hated, today's Save, or Delete, with a passion! Even yours truly, never wishes to hear that particular cover of that song, ever, again! Corey Hart was this week's 80's and 90's Artist Spotlight, and I had a lot of fun, playing some songs towards the end of the program, dedicated to trips Herbie will be taking to the doctor, and the dentist, over the next couple of days. The Variety Party, Disjointed Show, Minus The Flashback Hour For June 26, 2026

This week's edition of The Variety Party, nearly turned, into a disaster! For as I kept getting distracted, with other things, getting in my way, all throughout the day on Friday, preventing me from being able to sit down, and compile a playlist, as well as getting everybody's requests, and their voice messages ready for airplay beforehand. So there I was, barely with a couple of spots and a promo in the skeleton playlist, which I'm very thankful I have on hand, allowing me to at least start the show, and cue things up on the fly, as I went along. I'm also glad I chose to play long songs and run longer promos at the commercial breaks, to allow me time behind the scenes, to find listener requests, and get voicemails prepared for airplay. In the end, everybody's requests did get played, including the requested, Same Title, Different Song for this week's Life of the Party Segment, and I did some extra long voice breaks, which caused the show to get way off track. The only thing that ended up completely erased from the program this week, was The Flashback Hour, but I'll be honest, I find that hour difficult to throw together when doing a show on the fly, so I was perfectly fine, with no Flashback Hour this week, given how things were going. I also barely got my main entree at dinner down the hatch before going on the air, it took me nearly all night, to finish the bowl of Cheezits and drink most of the bottle of Coke I had brought into the studio with me to have during the show, and, I had dessert, once the show concluded. I was embarrassed and nervous prior to the show starting, and relieved I finished the show, without having any dead air, or technical issues, since no playlist had been saved, meaning the show could have ended up a complete bust, had I had to reboot the computer in the middle, or had there been a crash, causing the slowly building playlist, to get erased, so very thankful everything worked in my favor, and it was a good show after all.
