This week's edition of The Flash Drive was a regular show, though it had an interesting start, thanks to my running into some issues with my iPhone, just moments before the show started, that had me a bit, on edge and frustrated. Thankfully, I was able to get those issues resolved, and continue the program. Not only that, but thanks to playing relatively short songs during the first half hour of the show, I didn't get too far behind when it came to the rest of the segments. Herbie Allen was this week's winner, of Beat the Intro, which wasn't easy, as I purposely made it difficult. Even he was stumped on the title of the song, until I gave some multiple choice come the second hour. I was also unable to find one of Eric's requests, being presented with a, Stump the D.J. Otherwise, I had everybody else's requests, I managed to turn one person's request into a Same Title, Different Song, while I turned another person's request, into a double shot. George Benson was this week's 80's and 90's Artist Spotlight, and overall, it was a very good show. As far as what Herbie chose for his prize, he chose another album by The Four Tops, which will be played in full, this coming Friday, on The Variety Party. This week, it was a regular edition of the show, featuring plenty of great music from today to yesterday, listener requests, and, a requested, original vs. parody, for this week's Life of the Party Segment. I also had The Flashback Hour, which also featured some requests, and some great music released prior to the year of 1975. Also, some of the music, included songs I had to chop out of shows I did earlier in the week, due to time constraints. While the show was good overall, and I did share what I did to celebrate Mother's Day, I ended up having a bit of a rant, thanks to something I unfortunately discovered, about half an hour before the show started, and, my now former artificial intelligent cohost, Lady C, was not very nice at all, and by the end of the program, I had enough, so fired her, on the spot, during the closing voice break. Will I find another cohost in the future? Or am I doomed to doing the show, all by myself? That question shall be answered, another day. The Flash Drive Special, Featuring The Album, Hearsay, By Alexander O'Neal For May 12, 2026

On this week's edition of The Flash Drive, the first hour was taken up by an album, as chosen by Herbie Allen, for his prize, for winning Lady C's Lines of Lyrics contest last Friday on The Variety Party, making up for no Beat the Intro last week, due to my being absent from this show. He chose the album, Hearsay, by Alexander O'Neal, which played in full, during the first hour of the program. Once it concluded though, I opened up the request lines, and had my first Save, or Delete, where all listeners who voted, and yours truly, all, voted, to save, the song. Following this, I played plenty of listener requests, and for at least 50 minutes or so, as the album caused the rest of the show to run slightly late, but I was able to have most, of The 80's and 90's Hour, finishing off the listener requests, and George Michael, was this week's 80's and 90's Artist Spotlight. Everybody listening seemed to enjoy the show, and I had a lot of fun, broadcasting it for everybody. Thanks to missing The Flash Drive back on Tuesday, and having to run an archive, I ended up doing another regular edition, of The Variety Party this week. However, it was also due to the fact concerning The Flash Drive, that Lady C, my artificial intelligent cohost, decided to run a contest, where she presented lines of lyrics from a song, and the first listener to guess correctly, the artist and title of the song, would get to win one of the 5 usual prizes given for winning Beat the Intro, and their prize would be issued to them, on the next edition, of The Flash Drive. No sooner were the lyrics given, when Herbie Allen, gave me, the correct answer, winning his prize! He has chosen, a full length album, which will be played on the next edition of The Flash Drive, which at this time, will air on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Other than that, the show featured listener requests, including a requested, Original vs. Sample, for this week's Life of The Party Segment, but thanks to not getting as many requests this week, I was able to surprise that listener, by playing the long version, of the original. I also talked about my week, and explained why I wasn't able to be here on Tuesday, and outside of requests, the opening and closing song, and the song that was the contest answer, the rest of the playlist, including 95% of The Flashback Hour, featured songs that are personal favorites of my mom's, since Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday. All-in-all, it was a very good show, even if there wasn't nearly as much listener interaction as usual, I had just enough of it, to make the program worthwhile, and had a lot of fun, putting it on for everyone. The Variety Party, was a regular edition of the show this week, featuring plenty of great music, including Christmas requests? Yes, I kid you not, at least one listener, not only, requested a couple of Christmas songs, but I was introduced to a new Christmas song, on my show, in the month, of May! Now that's wild, and something, that has never happened before. Lady C, my artificial intelligent cohost, had to convince me, that this song did indeed, exist, as I wasn't convinced, thanks to it being by an artist I have in my music library, and in the Christmas collection portion of it, but apparently, this song, was one, I didn't have, until I went and found it to play, during the show. I also received so many phone calls on my request line while talking about my week, that I'm grateful I had a quiet week overall, with not much to talk about. The Life of the Party Segment was a requested, Compare the Difference, hand delivered to me, and, the majority of the votes, were for the version, I hoped would win. Later, I was lead to believe, that Herbie Allen and I, had somehow, switched places, based on something I said towards the end of the second hour, and, when I addressed him by my name in the DJ Celrock Telegram group, he promptly disappeared, for the rest of the show, something I often do on Sunday nights, during The Herbie Allen Show, and don't reappear, until a day or two later, and at the time I'm wrriting up these show notes, Herbie still remains, disappeared lol. Finally, The Flashback Hour featured some great music, with a small theme mixed into that hour, featuring the songs that charted at number 1, on the year end Billboard charts of each year, The Brady Bunch, originally aired on television.
